Vegan Mayo Recipe

Veganaise a.k.a vegan mayonnaise without all the bad stuff in it. I find that often there are just so many preservatives, GMO oils & additives that it defeats the whole vegan principal….anyhoo, so designed my own & it’s super easy! Here it is!

VEGAN MAYO RECIPE –  VEGANAISE

Ingredients:

1 cup hemp hearts

1 cup ROOM TEMP water

2 fat cloves garlic

½ tsp mustard powder

1 heaped tbsp. nutritional yeast

40ml olive oil

30ml apple cider vinegar

salt to taste

Method for making the vegan mayo

Allow the hemp hearts to stand in the water for 15min

Place the hemp hearts along with all the other ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until creamy & luxuriously smooth.

If it’s too thick add more water, if it’s too thin, add more hemp hearts directly too it, allow it to stand for 10min then blend again.

And that’s it!!!! Store in a clean, airtight glass jar in the fridge & consume within 5 days of making.

Wondering what you can eat with your veganaise? Basically anything you use to do with regular mayonnaise you can do with vegan mayonnaise PLUS get an extra boost of protein, vitamins & anti-oxidants!!!

It is AMAZING on potato salad, coleslaw, green salad, as a spread on sandwiches and even as a base to make a variety of dips & sauces!

Need variety?

Add your favorite herb like fresh basil, parsley or coriander & you have a delicious “pasta pesto sauce”!

I am not someone who tries to make something into that which it is not. There are some AMAZING vegan alternative options out there however they are quite processed and can become pretty pricey as an everyday commodity.

Good old favorites like mayonnaise which many consider being a ‘staple’ in their household often feel lost when these items get removed from the lists of allowed & not allowed.

I do understand it can be tough in the beginning that that is why I am so passionate about trying new exciting (& healthy) alternatives that can replace these staple items.

SO I hope you enjoy this easy, creamy & SUPER HEALTHY alternative for the regular mayonnaise (……AND THE PROCESSED VEGAN OPTIONS….the ingredients contained in those products are NOT a good choice for your body or environment)!!!
